Customer Support

Most rbAmp questions have an answer already written down. This page maps a question to the right place — docs for "how do I", forum for "did anyone else…", email for purchase / shipping / warranty issues.

"How do I…" — start with the docs

Setup, wiring, code, registers — covered in the Documentation:

If the docs don't answer your question — the next two channels are faster than email.

"Did anyone else…" — community

  • GitHub Discussions — code, register questions, integration patterns. Searchable; expect replies within hours during business hours.
  • Forum: forum.rbamp.com — community Q&A, install threads, project showcases. (Forum launches with the Wireless line — until then GitHub Discussions is the home.)
  • GitHub Issues — bug reports for the Arduino library, ESPHome component, or firmware.

"I bought something and…" — direct email

Purchase, shipping, warranty, and account issues need the email channel because we have to look up your order.

  • [email protected] — anything post-purchase: parcel status, warranty claim, accuracy complaint, calibration certificate request
  • [email protected] — general questions if you are not sure where to send

Include in your email: - Your order number (or the email you used at checkout) - The SKU / product name - A clear description of the issue - Photos or a short video if the issue is visible

Replies within 1–2 business days. We are a small team across timezones; we read every email and batch responses.

Common post-purchase situations

  • My order hasn't shipped yet, can I change it?Order Changes and Cancellation
  • My parcel is lost / stuck in customs / never arrived.Lost Shipments
  • I want to return / refund.Refund and Returns
  • Where is my order? (shipping status) → check the tracking link in your shipping email first, then email support if more than 7 days behind ETA
  • VAT invoice for my business. → email [email protected] with your company details and VAT number
  • Bulk / B2B order I already placed. → email [email protected] (faster than the general support queue)

Warranty in short

  • 24 months from delivery, hardware defects
  • Covers manufacturing faults, premature component failure, factory calibration off-spec on arrival
  • Does not cover: physical damage from install error (CT clamp not on the right wire, voltage spike from missing isolation on master side, water damage on a non-IP-rated module), or modifications to the firmware that brick the module

Full warranty terms in the Terms and Conditions. Returns and refunds procedure in Refund and Returns.

What we cannot help with

We are honest about scope:

  • Electrician work in your installation. Wiring a clamp around your live conductor and connecting voltage sense to a hot terminal is your job (or your electrician's). If you are not comfortable working in a breaker panel, hire a professional.
  • Integrating with third-party hardware we did not test. We support ESP32, ESP8266, STM32duino, AVR (Uno/Nano), and Raspberry Pi via Python. Other I²C-capable hosts — should work, but we do not bench-test them.
  • Certified billing. rbAmp is not MID-certified. For tenant invoicing where regulation requires certified meters, use a certified product instead. We are happy to be the second meter in the chain (for analytics) but not the billing-of-record device.
