How Cloud connects to your rbAmp

Path 1 — Wireless line (default firmware)

Scan QR on the module, register, the dashboard populates in 30 seconds. No code, no library setup.

Path 2 — Bare module + ESP32

Drop the rbamp-cloud Arduino library into your sketch. Configure WiFi credentials and Cloud API key. The library handles streaming.

Either way, your data stays yours. We're not in the data-mining business. The Privacy Policy is plain English; export your data anytime.

Timeline

Q4 2026 — Beta scales to ~500 invitees as we validate the infrastructure.

Frequently asked

Why pay for Cloud if RBgrid is free?

RBgrid is self-hosted — you run it on your own Raspberry Pi, you do the maintenance, you handle backups, port-forwarding, and TLS certificates. Cloud removes that work. If you value your time at >$5/month worth of admin overhead, Plus pays for itself. If you enjoy the self-host hobby, RBgrid is free forever.

Will my data be shared or sold?

No. We do not sell, share, or analyze your individual data. Aggregate anonymous statistics (e.g. "average peak demand for sites in tariff zone X") may be published in our blog, but never with anything that identifies you. See Privacy Policy.

Can I export my data?

Yes — CSV / JSON export on all tiers, including Free. Pro tier adds streaming export via webhooks for real-time pipelines.

What happens if I cancel my paid plan?

Your data is retained for 30 days (matching Free tier's history window). After 30 days, retention drops to Free-tier limits. You can re-subscribe within those 30 days and resume with full history.

Is the Cloud API documented?

Yes — public OpenAPI spec for the read API (all tiers from Plus). Write API (Pro only) is documented at Beta launch. Both API documents live under /docs/cloud/api (Coming with Beta).
