Why kits

Picking the right combination of bare rbAmp modules, current transformers, cable lengths, and host MCU is a real puzzle for a first-time buyer. Kits remove that puzzle for the common cases. If your install matches one of the four below, you save 2–4 hours of research and probably $5–15 on shipping (we batch the SKUs together).

The bare modules and individual CTs stay available — kits are not a forced upgrade. They are a faster path for people who do not want to learn the catalog.

Four kits on the roadmap

Kit 1 — 3-Phase Apartment Metering · Q3 2026

For apartments and small offices on three-phase service, where you want per-phase visibility plus a total.

Includes: - 3 × rbAmp Wireless Standard UI1 (one per phase) - 3 × 30 A SCT-013 clamps with leads - Pre-paired Cloud account with the 3-phase dashboard template loaded - Quick-start sheet with wiring diagram - USB-C power adapter

Target user: apartment renter / owner who can run wires in the breaker panel but does not want to design the I²C bus.

Estimated price: $80–110

Kit 2 — Solar Self-Consumption · Q3 2026

For homes with rooftop solar where you want to measure consumption AND export separately, automate when to run the dishwasher, and feed real numbers into your tariff calculations.

Includes: - 1 × rbAmp Wireless Standard UI3 (single module for main feed + solar + battery, three CTs) - 3 × 50 A SCT-013 clamps - Pre-paired Cloud account with the Solar Self-Consumption dashboard template - Automation YAML for Home Assistant ("if export > 200 W, run the dishwasher" pattern) - Quick-start sheet

Target user: prosumer home with PV; wants to push self-consumption above 60 % without spreadsheets.

Estimated price: $50–80

Kit 3 — Remote Pump / Off-Grid · Q4 2026

For irrigation pumps, off-grid cabins, and farm equipment that lives outside WiFi range. Built on the LoRaWAN line.

Includes: - 1 × rbAmp LoRaWAN Basic UI1 - 1 × 50 A SCT-013 clamp with weatherproof leads - Pre-flashed for The Things Network (free) or a Helium-compatible setup - Cloud pairing with Pump Telemetry dashboard template - Outdoor-rated enclosure (IP65) - USB-rechargeable battery sized for 6+ months of 10-min interval reporting - Quick-start sheet

Target user: farm, off-grid cabin, remote irrigation. Requires a LoRaWAN gateway in range (~10 km) — gateway is not included.

Estimated price: $60–90 (excluding gateway)

Kit 4 — Outdoor Energy Monitor · Q4 2026

For monitoring a sub-feed that lives outdoors or in a damp location (workshop, detached garage, garden shed). WiFi-based.

Includes: - 1 × rbAmp Wireless Standard UI3 (three current channels) - 3 × 30 A SCT-013 clamps with weatherproof leads - IP65 enclosure with cable glands pre-fitted - Pre-paired Cloud account with Outdoor Submetering dashboard template - Quick-start sheet with wiring + sealing instructions

Target user: detached workshop / garage / shed with WiFi reach. Want sub-metering without running data cables back to the main panel.

Estimated price: $70–95

What kits do not include

  • Tools — you bring your own screwdriver, wire stripper, multimeter
  • Electrical work — you are responsible for the actual panel install. Wiring instructions are clear, but if you are not comfortable working in a breaker panel, hire an electrician
  • Gateway hardware for LoRaWAN kits — check coverage at thethingsnetwork.org/map before ordering, or budget $80–150 for an entry gateway

Roadmap order

We ship in the order users ask for them. Current ranking from the M0 wait-list:

  1. 3-Phase Apartment — most-requested (Q3 2026)
  2. Solar Self-Consumption — close second (Q3 2026)
  3. Remote Pump — depends on LoRaWAN line shipping first (Q4 2026)
  4. Outdoor Energy Monitor — Q4 2026

If your use case is not on this list — tell us in the notify form. We use the wait-list to prioritise the second wave of kits.

Frequently asked

Why not just sell the bare modules cheaper? We do. The bare lines stay live and stay cheap. Kits add the install design, the matched cables, the dashboard template, and the integration recipe. If you can do those yourself, save the markup and buy bare.

Can I customise a kit? Not at retail. For 10+ unit B2B orders, see B2B program — custom bundling is part of what we offer there.

Compatibility with existing modules? Yes — kit modules are standard rbAmp Wireless / LoRaWAN units. You can add them to an existing Cloud account or move them to a different one.

Shipping? EU / US warehouses for the Wireless kits at launch. LoRaWAN kits ship from EU only initially.

Returns? Standard 30-day return policy (Refund and Returns). Kits are returnable as a unit — partial returns of individual SKUs from a kit are not supported.
